Artist talk: Friction Fit

Inspired by his author exhibition "Friction Fit" that celebrates the different meanings of urban details, the New York artist Matthew Woodward will introduce the audience his unique world of art and the mastery of creating meaningful works inspired by the details around us.

Under the mentorship of artist Matthew Woodward and architect Daniel Silver, this weekend course will take the participants on a meaningful journey through New York City urban landscape in order to gather inspiration and materials for the final art project of the course. We learn to notice meanings, beauty, details in urban details around us and create or fine relationships between them and our personal experiences.
The course ends with a collaborative exhibition featuring the works of the participants.

SOUNDSCAPES - external and internal landscapes mediated through sound.
Soundscapes is the beginning of a journey, a creative workshop that prepares teens and pre-teens for our artist development program. We use music and visual art as a medium to get us connected with our surroundings, “selves”, and with each other, in addition to creating and showcasing innovative works of art, learning new musical and visual skills under the mentorship of professional artists and making new connections.

WANDERLUST is an immersive multidisciplinary application of vision that takes a young artist on a journey of self-discovery. The course gives students the opportunity to try their hand in different fields of art (various styles of acoustic and electronic music, visual arts, moving image, film, animation, VJ, DJ and many more) to recognize their natural passions, talents and find their inner voice.
The Universe is as endless as one's imagination. WORLDS is an advanced project-based program for young artists, in which they will learn from professional creatives to develop projects. Students can choose between three concentrations:
Worlds: visual medias
design, music, and multimedia arts classes

silvermusic we offer piano, violin, cello, guitar and flute lessons
THRIVE artists: voice, songwriting and production, music for media, creative writing, architectural and urban design, fine arts, multimedia arts, creative coding
